Attendees will learn and discuss the developmental stages of writing, the distinction between writing and handwriting instruction, modeling, and shared writing. Attendees will leave with new ideas about how to implement authentic writing into their classroom and develop independent writers.
This refresher session is designed for certified elementary special educators who previously attended the week long UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute) training. The training will revisit core components of the UFLI Foundations program, reinforce effective instructional strategies, and provide updated guidance on implementation in the classroom. Educators will engage in hands-on activities, review key routines, and collaborate with peers to strengthen their confidence and consistency in delivering UFLI-based instruction.
